From Death to Life

I grew up believing that going to church made you a Christian. We went to church almost every Sunday and on holidays but the gospel of Jesus was foreign to me. Throughout my childhood, I went through a series of events, including the divorce of my parents, that led me to build up walls around my heart and feel unloved, especially by men. During my middle and high school years, I searched for ways to fill the holes and emptiness I felt in my heart by pursuing unhealthy relationships and "partying". This only led to more hurt and discontent. In the spring of 2008, after ending a very physical and emotionally-draining relationship, I began attending something called Younglife. For the first time, I really heard the gospel of Jesus and understood what being a Christian was all about. That summer, I gave my life to Christ at a Younglife Camp called Castaway Club. I finally felt the peace and joy I had been searching for throughout my life. Since then, there have been many trials but the Lord is always faithful and He continues to grow me closer to Him day by day.
